An empty shop for a day provided a test space for a showcase of personal items and a public discourse about the things we keep and the stories they hold. The history of objects, the narratives they suggest and the traces of former use are all common interests to myself and fellow artist Eva Bennett. By sharing our past with other people, we invited them to share their own reflections on the things they collect and the feelings and memories these hoarded items carry.
